Producer KP Chowdary, Accused in Drugs Case, Dies by Suicide

Film producer KP Chowdary (Krishna Prasad Chowdary), who was previously accused in the Tollywood drugs case, has died by suicide in Goa. Authorities have confirmed his death.

In 2023, KP Chowdary was arrested by the police for allegedly selling drugs. He was later released on bail and had been out of custody since then. Chowdary was one of the producers of the Telugu version of the film Kabali, starring superstar Rajinikanth.

Following his death, the police have informed his mother, who resides in Palwancha, Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

The exact reasons behind KP Chowdary’s suicide remain unknown. However, reports suggest that he was facing severe financial distress, particularly due to losses incurred from the Kabali film.
