BPL Franchise in Financial Trouble: Bus Driver Demands Payment, Locks Cricket Kits

A franchise in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is facing severe financial difficulties, leading to an unusual dispute involving a bus driver. The team reportedly lacked funds to pay the driver responsible for transporting players between their hotel and the stadium. Frustrated over unpaid wages, the driver locked the players’ kits and refused to release them until his dues were cleared.
The franchise in question is Durbar Rajshahi, which is struggling to pay its players and staff. Due to pending payments, some foreign players representing the team are unable to return to their home countries. The hotels where they are staying have refused to let them check out until outstanding bills are settled.
Bus driver Mohammad Babul, speaking about the situation, stated that he had been ferrying the players throughout the tournament but had not been paid a significant portion of his wages. "The team management still owes me a large sum, including bus rental charges and my salary. This is disgraceful," he said. He added that the kits belong to both local and foreign players and insisted that he would not release them unless he received his pending payment.
