Varun Chakravarthy Creates History in T20 Series Against England

Indian mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has etched his name in the record books by delivering a stellar performance in the recently concluded T20 series against England. Chakravarthy claimed 14 wickets in the five-match series, setting a new record for the most wickets taken by a spinner in a bilateral T20I series.
The 33-year-old Indian bowler played a crucial role in the final game of the series, conceding just 25 runs while taking two wickets, which helped him achieve the milestone of 14 wickets in the series.
With this feat, Chakravarthy surpassed the previous record held by New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi, who had taken 13 wickets against Australia in 2021. Overall, Chakravarthy now stands as the second-highest wicket-taker in a single T20I series. The record for the most wickets in a bilateral T20I series remains with West Indies' Jason Holder, who took 15 wickets against England in 2022.

Sami Sohail (Malawi) - 14 wickets
Varun Chakravarthy (India) - 14 wickets
