West Indies cricketer Andre Russell has set a new milestone in T20 cricket, becoming the fastest player to score 9,000 runs in the format. Russell reached this landmark in just 5,321 deliveries, surpassing the previous record held by Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, who took 5,915 balls to achieve the feat.
Currently playing in the ILT20 tournament in the UAE, Russell represents Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. He accomplished this remarkable feat on Saturday during a match against Gulf Giants. Following Russell, the next fastest players to reach 9,000 T20 runs are AB de Villiers (5,985 balls), Kieron Pollard (5,988 balls), Chris Gayle (6,007 balls), and Alex Hales (6,175 balls).

The explosive all-rounder has played 536 T20 matches, amassing 9,004 runs at an average of 26.79 and an impressive strike rate of 169.15. He has registered 31 half-centuries and two centuries in his career. Russell is the 25th player to surpass the 9,000-run mark in T20 cricket.
