RG Kar Medical College Student Dies by Suicide in Kolkata
A tragic incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata has caused significant concern. A second-year medical student was found dead by suicide in her room at the ESI quarters in Kamarhati.
According to the police, the student's mother repeatedly knocked on the door but received no response. When she forcibly opened it, she discovered her daughter hanging. With the help of locals, the unconscious student was rushed to the emergency ward of the nearby ESI hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The body was later sent for post-mortem at a government hospital.
Kamarhati police have registered a case of suspicious death and launched an investigation. Authorities stated that no suicide note was found at the scene, and the family has not filed any complaints. However, preliminary inquiries suggest that the student had been suffering from chronic health issues, which may have led to depression and, ultimately, her suicide.
