Team India Secures Dominant 150-Run Victory Against England in Final T20I

Team India delivered a commanding performance in the fifth and final T20I against England at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, securing a resounding 150-run victory. The hosts, after losing the toss and being put in to bat, posted a mammoth total of 247/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Young opener Abhishek Sharma stole the show with a sensational knock of 135 runs off just 54 balls.

Chasing a daunting target of 248, England collapsed under pressure, managing only 97 runs in 10.3 overs. Opener Phil Salt top-scored with 55 runs, while Jacob Bethell contributed 10 runs. No other English batter managed to reach double figures.

Among Indian bowlers, Mohammed Shami was the standout performer, claiming three wickets, including the final two dismissals of Adil Rashid (6) and Mark Wood (0) in consecutive deliveries. Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Dube, and Abhishek Sharma took two wickets each, while Ravi Bishnoi picked up one.

Abhishek Sharma's all-round brilliance earned him the Player of the Match award. Apart from scoring the second-fastest T20I century for India, he also chipped in with two crucial wickets.

With this emphatic win, India clinched the five-match T20I series 4-1. The focus now shifts to the three-match ODI series between India and England, set to begin on February 6. The first ODI will be played in Nagpur, followed by the second in Cuttack on February 9, and the final match in Ahmedabad on February 12.
