Young opener Abhishek Sharma has put on a stellar performance, dominating the England bowlers. The dynamic left-hander reached his half-century in just 17 balls and went on to register the second-fastest T20 century for India. Meanwhile, Tilak Varma also played aggressively, accelerating India’s run rate.

Earlier, opener Sanju Samson attempted an attacking start but was dismissed after scoring 16 runs off seven balls, including one four and two sixes. Following his dismissal, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma launched a fierce counterattack against the England bowling attack.

At the end of eight overs, India had posted a commanding total of 127 for the loss of one wicket. Abhishek Sharma remained unbeaten on 86 runs off 29 balls, hitting four boundaries and nine sixes. Tilak Varma was at the crease with 23 runs off 12 balls, including three fours and one six.
