Security Scare at Ranji Match as Fans Storm the Field for Virat Kohli

A dramatic incident occurred at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi during a Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Railways. The match marked Virat Kohli’s return to domestic cricket after nearly 12 years, drawing a large crowd of fans eager to see him in action. However, disappointment set in as Kohli, known as the "run machine," was dismissed quickly after coming out to bat yesterday.

During today’s play, while the Railways team was batting, an unexpected interruption took place. Three enthusiastic fans stormed onto the field towards Kohli, who was fielding at the time. They attempted to touch his feet as a gesture of respect, but security personnel intervened immediately and escorted them out of the stadium. This caused a brief halt to the match.

This is not the first such incident involving Kohli. A similar security breach had occurred recently when another fan managed to evade security and enter the field to get close to the star cricketer.

Despite the disruption, the Delhi team secured a commanding victory over Railways. In the first innings, Railways posted 241 runs, while Delhi responded strongly with 374 runs, taking a lead of 143. Railways struggled in their second innings, getting bowled out for just 114 runs, resulting in Delhi’s victory by an innings and 19 runs.
