AP DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao Becomes Emotional During Farewell Parade

A grand farewell parade was held in honor of Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Dwaraka Tirumala Rao as he retired from service. The event took place at the 6th Battalion Grounds in Mangalagiri, with all senior IPS officers from the state in attendance. During the ceremony, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao received a guard of honor from the police force.
In his farewell speech, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao became emotional, describing the occasion as one of the most poignant moments of his life. He expressed deep sentiment over leaving behind his uniform and reflected on the challenges he had faced throughout his career. He noted the transition from traditional policing to a more technology-driven approach and commended the police force for its courageous efforts during crisis situations. He credited government support for strengthening the police system and highlighted key measures taken against drug trafficking, crimes against children, and cybercrime.
Incoming DGP Harish Kumar Gupta praised Dwaraka Tirumala Rao for leaving a lasting impact on the police department. He acknowledged the reforms introduced for public safety and noted the establishment of the "Eagle Team" to combat drug abuse. Harish Kumar Gupta assured that he would perform his duties to the best of his ability and warned of strict action against those posting inappropriate content on social media.
