Indian Players Shine in ICC T20 Rankings; Tilak Varma Achieves Career-Best Rank

The ICC T20 rankings released on Wednesday saw Indian players making a strong impact, with young cricketers Tilak Varma and Varun Chakravarthy delivering standout performances. In the latest rankings, Tilak Varma, who has been in exceptional form, achieved his career-best rank in the batting category.

Tilak Varma, the promising young batsman from Telangana, has been in remarkable touch. After scoring consecutive centuries against South Africa in November last year, he has continued his excellent form in the ongoing home series against England. In the second T20 match of the series, he played a match-winning knock of 72* runs, single-handedly guiding India to victory. His consistent performances have propelled him to the No. 2 position in the latest ICC T20 batting rankings, with 832 rating points.

Australian star batsman Travis Head remains at the top with 855 rating points, while India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav is ranked fourth.

In the bowling rankings, India's mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy made a significant jump, climbing 25 places to secure the No. 5 position with 679 rating points. His consistent performances in the ongoing series against England have helped him break into the top five. Another Indian spinner, Axar Patel, improved his ranking by five places, securing the 11th spot. England’s Adil Rashid continues to lead the bowling rankings.
