Rythu Bandhu Funds Missing Under Congress Rule: KTR

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) stated that the former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had predicted that the Rythu Bandhu scheme would be discontinued if the Congress came to power. Speaking at the BRS Farmers’ Maha Dharna held at Clock Tower Crossroads in Nalgonda, KTR remarked that despite being in power for over a year, the Congress government has failed to release funds for the Rythu Bandhu scheme. He praised Nalgonda as the land that once challenged the Nizam’s regime.

KTR recounted how a minister had questioned KCR’s contributions to Nalgonda in the Assembly. In response, he highlighted that KCR had made Nalgonda the top district in paddy production. He further added that under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, KCR’s government had distributed ₹73,000 crore to farmers. He accused the Congress party of turning the youth of Nalgonda into "living corpses" and deceiving farmers by failing to provide even a single rupee for the scheme.

KTR criticized the present Telangana CM Revanth Reddy for making grand promises before the elections but failing to fulfill any of them after coming to power. He stated that the Congress government has not implemented even one-fourth of the ₹49,000-crore farm loan waiver it promised. Furthermore, he alleged that Revanth Reddy had promised ₹15,000 under Rythu Bandhu but reduced it to ₹12,000 upon assuming office.

Mocking the Congress, KTR ridiculed the government’s policies, stating that while applications are being collected for everything from ration cards to caste-based surveys, the only ones benefitting in the state seem to be those running photocopy(xerox) centers.
