Maha Kumbh Mela: APSRTC Announces Special Buses Starting February 1

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has announced the operation of special buses for the Maha Kumbh Mela being held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. District Public Transport Officer M.Y. Danam disclosed the arrangements on Monday, stating that these buses will also cover other pilgrimage sites such as Varanasi and Ayodhya.

This special pilgrimage itinerary spans approximately 3,600 kilometers and lasts for eight days. The schedule is as follows:

    February 1: Departure from Vijayawada PNBS in the morning.
    February 2: Arrival at Prayagraj by evening.
    February 3: Stay at Prayagraj for the day.
    February 4: Night travel to Ayodhya.
    February 5: Morning arrival in Ayodhya, followed by a visit to Bal Ram Temple, and onward travel to Varanasi at night.
    February 6: Arrival in Varanasi in the morning with a night stay.
    February 7: Departure from Varanasi in the morning.
    February 8: Return to Vijayawada.

The ticket prices for the special buses are as follows:

    Super Luxury: ₹8,000
    Star Liner Non-AC Sleeper: ₹11,000
    Vennela AC Sleeper: ₹14,500

APSRTC officials clarified that the ticket prices are uniform for both children and adults and cover only the bus fare. Expenses for food, accommodation, and other needs must be borne by the passengers. Groups of 35 or 29 devotees can also request private buses for the pilgrimage.

In addition to Vijayawada, officials confirmed that buses have already been arranged from Rajamahendravaram and Kovvur, with reservations for those routes now fully booked. These buses will also commence their journey on February 1.
