Andhra Pradesh to Allocate Land for the Poor, Announces Housing Minister

Andhra Pradesh Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy has announced good news for the economically disadvantaged in the state. He stated that eligible poor families would soon be allocated residential land—3 cents in rural areas and 2 cents in urban areas. Speaking at a press conference in Vijayawada yesterday, Kolusu Parthasarathy shared that 1.14 lakh houses have already been completed under the state’s housing initiative.

The minister revealed that on February 1, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will hand over house keys to beneficiaries at an event in Tetali village, Tanuku constituency, West Godavari district. On the same day, similar programs will be organized across every constituency in the state under the supervision of MLAs and other public representatives.

Kolusu Parthasarathy emphasized that despite financial constraints faced by the government, housing projects were prioritized and successfully completed. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the state aims to complete the construction of seven lakh houses by December this year.
