Chennai Airport Bomb Threat Creates Panic Among Passengers

A bomb threat caused panic at Chennai Airport on Saturday midnight after a passenger on an Indigo Airlines flight claimed to possess a bomb. The incident occurred during a flight from Kochi to Chennai carrying 171 passengers. Shortly after takeoff, an altercation broke out between two passengers—an American national and a Kerala resident—leading one of them to threaten that he had a bomb and would detonate it. This statement created widespread fear among fellow passengers.

Alerted to the situation, the pilots immediately informed Chennai Airport security officials. Upon landing, airport authorities conducted a thorough investigation of the aircraft. By early Sunday morning, around 5:00 AM, security personnel confirmed that there was no bomb onboard, providing relief to the passengers. However, both individuals involved in the altercation were taken into police custody for further questioning.
