Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy Reacts to V. Vijayasai Reddy's Resignation Announcement

TDP leader and former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy reacted sharply to YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP V. Vijayasai Reddy's announcement of stepping away from active politics. Taking to the platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), Somireddy made critical comments regarding Vijayasai Reddy's decision, calling it “peculiar” and questioning its timing.

“After committing numerous wrongdoings, announcing a resignation to leave politics seems bizarre,” Somireddy alleged. Referring to Vijayasai Reddy’s plans to focus on farming, he mocked, “Will you farm with the black money you have looted? Who will compensate the state for the damage done if you step into farming now?”

Somireddy accused Vijayasai Reddy of having been involved in various corrupt activities since 2004. He claimed, “Between 2004 and 2009, you acted as the second-in-command in executing sins under the guise of the then Chief Minister's family. In the past five years, you remained the right hand for Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s anarchic and exploitative governance.”

He further alleged, “Before resigning, reveal where the ₹43,000 crore looted during the earlier term and the ₹1 lakh crore public wealth stolen in the last five years is hidden. Only then can there be a chance for divine forgiveness.”

Somireddy also hinted at fear of legal action behind Vijayasai Reddy’s decision to quit politics. He questioned, “Is this resignation a result of your fear of the cases surrounding your past deeds, or is it aimed at protecting your son-in-law's company, Aurobindo Pharma?”

He predicted that this resignation would not be an isolated incident, suggesting that other members of YSRCP might follow suit. “This resignation spree might not stop with Vijayasai Reddy. One or two more members might resign by tonight or tomorrow,” Somireddy wrote in his tweet.
