Amaravati Will Be Completed in Three Years: Minister Narayana

The construction of Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, has resumed under the coalition government. Moving forward with the goal of expediting the capital’s development, Minister Narayana announced that the construction of Amaravati will be completed within three years. He stated that legal challenges had caused delays in initiating the works. Minister Narayana made these remarks while touring the capital region today, inspecting the administrative towers near Nelapadu.
Speaking to the media, Narayana revealed that tenders have been called for 40 works so far. He emphasized the government's vision of making Amaravati one of the top five cities in the world. Iconic buildings have been designed by renowned architect Norman Foster to achieve this goal.
Narayana highlighted that during the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime, prior to 2019, work began on apartment complexes comprising 4,053 flats for judges, officials, and employees. He mentioned plans to construct the Assembly building with a height of 250 meters and to design it as a tourism attraction on non-session days. Additionally, he stated that the infrastructure, including drinking water pipelines, electrical lines, and drainage systems, will be laid underground.
