Anil Ambani’s Visit Sparks Hopes for New Industry in Krishnapatnam

Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Group, led by Chairman Anil Ambani, has initiated efforts to establish an Ultra Mega Power Project near Krishnapatnam Port. During his recent visit to Krishnapatnam, Anil Ambani drew widespread attention to the stalled project. In 2008, the then government allocated 2,565 acres of land to Reliance Power for the project.
However, due to unavoidable circumstances, the project was halted. By 2019, no industrial development had taken place on the site, prompting the previous YSRCP government to announce its intention to reclaim the land. At the time, the Muthukur Tehsildar issued notices on-site. Despite this, the company representatives approached the court and held negotiations with the government, resulting in the land being reallocated to the company. Nevertheless, no activity occurred on the site until now.
With Anil Ambani’s recent inspection of the land, clarity has emerged regarding plans for establishing a major industrial unit. Sources indicate that a solar panel manufacturing unit is being considered, with plans to complete construction by 2026. If the industry is set up, it is expected to generate thousands of jobs and employment opportunities.
