Nara Lokesh Should Be Made Deputy Chief Minister, Says Former Pitapuram MLA Varma

Nara Lokesh, the Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, Electronics, Human Resource Development, and RTGS, has been at the center of growing demands for his elevation to Deputy Chief Minister. Senior TDP leaders, including Politburo member Srinivas Reddy and Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, have publicly advocated for this move, arguing that Lokesh has endured challenges and worked tirelessly for the party's growth.

Joining the chorus of support, former Pitapuram MLA and TDP in-charge for the constituency, SVSN Varma, expressed his firm belief that Nara Lokesh deserves the position of Deputy Chief Minister. Highlighting Lokesh's achievements, Varma pointed out that Lokesh spearheaded the TDP membership drive, taking it beyond one crore, a historic milestone. Varma also credited Lokesh with effectively countering skepticism about TDP’s future through his leadership and youth outreach.

Varma criticized sections of the media and social media for misrepresenting Lokesh’s contributions and urged them to respect the sentiments of party workers. "The TDP cadre values Lokesh's hard work and is demanding a fitting reward for his efforts," Varma stated. Drawing comparisons, he noted that other parties have openly endorsed their leaders' aspirations, referencing instances where party workers supported leaders like Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Pawan Kalyan as chief ministerial candidates.

Varma argued, “If party workers are expressing their desire to see Nara Lokesh as Deputy Chief Minister, it is not wrong to respect their feelings. Lokesh has been a source of strength and confidence for the party.”

He emphasized that his remarks reflect the collective will of TDP workers rather than his personal views. Varma affirmed Lokesh's unwavering dedication and integrity, asserting that he has become the backbone of the Telugu Desam Party. However, he concluded by reiterating that any decision on this matter ultimately rests with TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu, and the party leadership’s choice would be respected.
