Somireddy Urges TDP to Appoint Nara Lokesh as Deputy CM

Senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has demanded that Nara Lokesh, the party’s national general secretary, be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. In a tweet on Sunday, Somireddy stated that Lokesh is fully deserving of the position, highlighting his leadership qualities and the challenges he has faced in his political career.

Somireddy’s demand follows similar suggestions from other senior party leaders. TDP Politburo member R. Srinivasulu Reddy was the first to propose that Lokesh be given the Deputy Chief Minister post. This was later supported by Assembly Deputy Speaker and Undi MLA Raghurama Raju.

Somireddy emphasized that Lokesh has endured significant political struggles and faced many challenges with resilience. He credited Lokesh’s “Yuvagalam” padayatra (march) as a testament to his leadership and perseverance. According to Somireddy, Lokesh’s efforts have not only strengthened the TDP cadre but have also garnered widespread support from the people of Andhra Pradesh for his leadership.

Appealing to the TDP leadership, Somireddy urged the party to consider Lokesh’s name for the Deputy Chief Minister role, asserting that Lokesh possesses all the necessary qualifications to take on the responsibility.
