Pawan Kalyan Urges Increased Use of Electric Vehicles to Combat Pollution

Pawan Kalyan, Deputy Chief Minister, emphasized the need to increase the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) as a measure to mitigate the escalating pollution levels. He made these remarks during a meeting held yesterday at his camp office in Mangalagiri with representatives from People Tech Enterprises.
The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government to establish an Electric Vehicle Park over 1,200 acres near Orvakal in Kurnool district. During the meeting, People Tech Group CEO Vishwaprasad briefed Pawan Kalyan on the project’s specifics.
The proposed park will include manufacturing units, R&D centers, testing tracks, and plug-and-play industrial zones. The company highlighted that this would be the first private EV park in India, bringing an investment of ₹13,000 crore and creating employment opportunities for approximately 25,000 people.
Pawan Kalyan welcomed the initiative, describing it as a positive development for the region. He praised the establishment of the EV park near Orvakal, calling it a milestone in the state’s industrial development. He further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been paying special attention to reducing pollution on a national scale.
Additionally, Pawan Kalyan acknowledged the efforts of the coalition government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, in making electric vehicles widely available. Senior officials, including Bhaskar Reddy, Ravikiran Akella, Bob Duffy, Steve Gerber, and Herald Rakrigel, were present at the meeting.
