APSRTC Earns Record Revenue During Sankranti Festival

In a significant boost to its earnings, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) generated substantial revenue during the Sankranti festival. To cater to the surge in passenger demand as people traveled to their hometowns for the celebrations, APSRTC operated nearly 3,400 special services between January 8 and January 13. Additionally, for the return journeys of these travelers, the corporation scheduled approximately 3,800 services from January 16 to January 20.

APSRTC Managing Director announced that no extra charges were levied on passengers traveling in the special buses. Furthermore, passengers who booked round-trip tickets in advance were offered a 10% discount. This initiative contributed significantly to APSRTC's ability to transport a record number of passengers to their destinations. So far, approximately 400,000 passengers have utilized APSRTC services, leading to revenue of around ₹12 crore.

The corporation had set a revenue target of ₹12.5 crore for the festival period and is on track to meet it. With return journeys still underway, APSRTC anticipates additional earnings. Last year, APSRTC generated a total revenue of ₹12 crore during the festival season, transporting about 430,000 passengers.
