Chandrababu Naidu Highlights Vision 2047 for Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu addressed a media conference at the state secretariat, emphasizing the transformative power of technology and his vision for Andhra Pradesh’s development. He highlighted the significance of the Polavaram project, describing it as the lifeline of the state. Criticizing the previous government, he alleged that the Polavaram project was mishandled and blamed them for derailing the progress of Amaravati. He also expressed concern that the current environment in the state was discouraging investments.

Recalling his early efforts to promote technology and IT, Chandrababu Naidu said, “In the past, when I spoke about technology, I was ridiculed. However, today, technology is not just providing food; it is taking humanity to new heights.” He remarked on how indispensable mobile phones have become in daily life.

He also reflected on his vision for India’s infrastructure during his tenure, stating, “I thought about second-generation economic reforms long ago. I remember discussing with then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee about improving Indian roads after witnessing Malaysia's superior infrastructure. When he questioned the funding sources, I explained various methods for road construction.” Chandrababu Naidu credited these efforts for the introduction of four-lane, six-lane, and even 14-lane highways in India.

He proudly mentioned his contributions to Hyderabad's development, including the construction of the 160-kilometer Outer Ring Road and the establishment of an international airport spread across 5,000 acres. Chandrababu Naidu asserted that Hyderabad continues to generate significant revenue for Telangana, attributing it to the foundations laid during his tenure.

Speaking about Andhra Pradesh’s progress, he said, “A coalition government is now in power in the state. Our focus has always been on development, wealth creation, and reinvesting the increased revenue into welfare programs to empower citizens. We have now defined Vision 2047, prioritizing clear goals to ensure holistic development. A happy individual leads to a progressive family, which in turn leads to a prosperous society.”

He pointed out that societal changes have improved family dynamics. “Earlier, parents were often neglected by their children. Today, through pension schemes, we have created a system where children are incentivized to take care of their parents. Our culture, with its strong family structure, ensures security and harmony, and it stands out as extraordinary compared to others,” Chandrababu Naidu stated.

He also highlighted India’s unique advantage with the Aadhaar system, saying, “No other country has a system like Aadhaar. It allows us to identify every individual. Many initiatives I proposed earlier are now being implemented.”

Outlining his vision for the future, Chandrababu Naidu shared the objectives of Vision 2047, which aims to make Andhra Pradesh a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047 with a per capita income of $42,000. “We are involving people as partners in achieving these ambitious goals,” he concluded.
