YouTuber Thrashed by Sadhu at Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj

An incident involving a sadhu thrashing a YouTuber with a broomstick took place at the grand Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. A video of the incident, recorded by onlookers, has since gone viral on social media, attracting widespread attention.
The grand Kumbh Mela, which began on Monday in Prayagraj, is drawing millions of devotees who gather at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet, to perform holy baths. Large numbers of sadhus and pilgrims have arrived at the mela to participate in the sacred rituals.
According to reports, the incident occurred when a YouTuber approached a sadhu, who was seated nearby, and began an interview. The situation escalated when the YouTuber started asking what were perceived as offensive or bizarre questions. Irritated by the questions, the sadhu, unable to control his anger, grabbed a broomstick and hit the YouTuber, causing him to flee the scene.
The conflict reportedly began when the YouTuber asked, "When did you become a sadhu?" to which the sadhu replied, "Since childhood." The YouTuber then continued to probe further, asking, "What kind of prayers do you perform for God?" This line of questioning apparently angered the sadhu, leading to the sudden attack with the broomstick while exclaiming, "Do you think this is a joke?" The frightened YouTuber immediately ran away from the sadhu’s tent.
Other visitors at the mela, who were present during the incident, recorded the entire scene and uploaded the video on social media. The video quickly went viral, sparking humorous reactions and discussions online.
