Tirumala Gold Theft Incident Unravels Shocking Facts

In a significant development, sensational details have emerged during the investigation into the gold theft at the Tirumala Parakamani. The accused, identified as Veerishetty Penchalaiah, a resident of Tirupati, was apprehended while attempting to steal gold biscuits. According to officials, this is not the first time Penchalaiah has committed such an act; his previous thefts came to light during questioning.
Penchalaiah had been employed for the past two years as a contract worker at the Tirumala Parakamani through Agrigos, a contracting firm. Motivated by a desire to earn quick money, he allegedly began stealing gold from the Parakamani’s gold storage area. His suspicious behavior prompted vigilance officers to keep him under close watch.
On January 11, during the afternoon, Penchalaiah attempted to steal a 100-gram gold biscuit by concealing it inside a pipe of a garbage transport trolley. However, security personnel noticed the theft during an inspection, leading to his attempt to flee the scene.
Following a complaint by vigilance officers, the Tirumala One-Town police registered a case and detained Penchalaiah. During interrogation, he confessed to his previous thefts. The authorities recovered 555 grams of gold biscuits, 100 grams of gold ornaments, and 157 grams of silver items from him, with an estimated total value of around ₹46 lakhs. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
