Telangana Transport Department Cracks Down on Private Travels Operating in Violation of Regulations

The Telangana Transport Department has taken strict action against private travel operators running buses in violation of established regulations. More than 300 cases have been registered against various private transport companies for non-compliance. Inspections have been ongoing for four consecutive days after officials noticed that several private operators were flouting norms during the Sankranti festival rush.

Special teams were formed in regions such as Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, and Mahabubnagar to conduct these checks. According to Enforcement Joint Transport Commissioner Chandrasekhar Goud, inspections at key locations in Hyderabad, including LB Nagar and Aramghar, revealed buses violating operational guidelines.

The commissioner stated that these inspections would be carried out continuously to curb violations. "We have received complaints about exorbitant charges being collected by private travel operators during the festive season. Based on these complaints, we initiated inspections and focused on vehicles operating against regulations," he said.
