KCR’s Sankranti Message: Wishes to People, Advice to the Government

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and former Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), extended Sankranti greetings to the people of Telangana. Emphasizing the cultural significance of the festival, KCR stated that Sankranti holds a special place for farmers and agriculture. He expressed hope that the festival would bring prosperity to farmers and prayed to Mother Nature for continued blessings in their lives.
Highlighting the BRS government's contributions, KCR asserted that no other government in the country has worked as diligently for farmers' welfare as theirs. He said, “In the ten years of BRS rule, agriculture in Telangana has flourished, turning the state into a model for others.”
KCR noted that his government had spent nearly ₹4.5 lakh crore on farmer welfare, cutting across political considerations. He pointed out that the BRS administration had transformed farming from a burdensome task into a celebration and emphasized that their welfare-oriented governance has made agriculture a joyful activity. He called on the Congress government to continue the welfare schemes introduced by BRS, ensuring that farmers’ lives remain prosperous and festive, especially during Sankranti celebrations.
Detailing the various initiatives implemented by the BRS government, KCR stated that key programs such as 24-hour free electricity for farming, irrigation projects providing water to farmlands, Rythu Bandhu for financial support, and Rythu Bima for farmers’ families were effectively executed. These initiatives, he said, have ensured rapid and sustainable development in the agricultural sector.
KCR credited the BRS government’s welfare programs with making Telangana a leader in agriculture at both the national and international levels. He also underscored efforts to promote traditional occupations and provide financial assistance to all communities, thereby improving their livelihoods. “By supporting caste-based professions and offering economic aid to backward communities, we have brought vibrancy to their lives,” KCR added.
