Viral Video: Retired IAS Officer manhandled by Bus Conductor

In a shocking incident in Jaipur, Rajasthan, a bus conductor manhandled a 75-year-old retired IAS officer, R.L. Meena, over a fare dispute. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media, leading to widespread condemnation. Following the outrage, senior officials suspended the conductor, and a police case has been registered against him based on Meena's complaint.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday when R.L. Meena was traveling on a public bus operated by the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC). Meena was supposed to alight at the Kanota stage, but the conductor, identified as Ghanshyam Sharma, allegedly failed to announce the stop. Consequently, Meena missed his destination and was asked by the conductor to get down at the next stop and buy a new ticket for ₹10 to return.
This led to a heated argument between Meena and the conductor. Meena reportedly insisted that it was the conductor's responsibility to announce each stop, and since the failure to do so caused him to miss his destination, he should not be charged an additional fare. Meena questioned why he should pay for the conductor's mistake.
As the argument escalated, Sharma allegedly pushed Meena, who responded by slapping the conductor. Enraged by this, the conductor attacked Meena, punching him repeatedly and kicking him brutally. The assault was recorded by a fellow passenger, who later shared the video on social media.
The video has sparked widespread outrage, with many demanding strict action against the conductor. Authorities acted swiftly by suspending Sharma, while the police registered a case against him based on Meena's complaint.
