CM Chandrababu Calls for Public Participation in P4 Policy for Zero Poverty

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, while sharing his thoughts and ideas on achieving zero poverty, made an announcement regarding his flagship initiative—P4 (Public-Private-People Partnership). In a tweet, he emphasized that this policy, which he considers his brainchild, aims to reduce economic inequalities and enhance the standard of living for everyone in society.

Chandrababu Naidu stated, “We must thrive, and everyone around us must prosper. Only then can we celebrate true festivals.” He urged the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telugu-speaking communities across the globe to participate in the P4 initiative inspired by the ‘Janmabhoomi’ spirit. He expressed his wish to take the first step towards implementing P4 during the upcoming Sankranti festival and invited suggestions, advice, and experiences from the public to fine-tune the initiative.

Extending Sankranti greetings to Telugu people worldwide, he said, “Our culture and traditions should flourish, and every household must experience the joy of the festival. I firmly believe that true happiness can only be achieved when economic disparities are reduced, and everyone’s living standards improve.” He added that the government is continually working to bring light into people’s lives through welfare, development, and good governance. He highlighted the ten principles under the ‘Golden Andhra 2047 Vision’ and stated that the first principle is achieving zero poverty.

Chandrababu Naidu recalled the economic reforms implemented during 1995 when Andhra Pradesh was a united state. He mentioned how the P3 (Public-Private Partnership) model back then created employment and wealth, transforming the lives of millions. Several individuals, including those from humble farming backgrounds, benefited from those reforms and rose to prominent positions both in India and abroad. He stressed that the benefits of those reforms must now be extended to all sections of society, particularly to the millions who remain in poverty.

Citing statistics from the central government, he noted that many rural and urban families in Andhra Pradesh are still struggling with extreme poverty, lacking access to basic amenities such as education, healthcare, nutrition, and drinking water. To address these challenges, he unveiled a policy document outlining the P4 framework. He appealed to the top 10% of society, who have reached high positions with the support of government policies and societal opportunities, to support the bottom 20% of the population by providing assistance for education, employment, and skill development.

Chandrababu Naidu elaborated that by imparting knowledge, providing access to technology, and offering guidance to underprivileged communities, significant changes could be brought to their lives. He encouraged successful individuals, particularly NRIs, to mentor and support impoverished families, thereby creating a ripple effect in society. He cited the success of the earlier ‘Janmabhoomi’ movement, where NRIs and entrepreneurs came forward to transform several villages, and called upon people to replicate that spirit by extending opportunities to the underprivileged.

“Our motto is a society free of poverty. Our policy is to eliminate poverty, which is a barrier to progress. While the government will do its part, people must also contribute to achieve this goal. I urge all those who have returned to their hometowns for Sankranti to discuss and deliberate on this. Helping your neighbors will give true meaning to your success,” he remarked.

Chandrababu Naidu announced that a special portal would be launched to gather suggestions, feedback, and ideas from the public over the next 30 days to refine the P4 model. He concluded by appealing to everyone to take a pledge during Sankranti to participate in the mission of transforming the lives of the poor. “Together, let us strive for a healthy, happy, and prosperous Andhra Pradesh,” he said in his tweet.
