Telangana Government Cancels Special Show Permissions for ‘Game Changer’ Movie

The Telangana government has cancelled the permissions granted for special morning shows of the movie ‘Game Changer’, starring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar. Initially, the government had allowed the special shows, but fresh orders were issued on Saturday by the Telangana Home Department to revoke the earlier permissions.
The government's decision comes in response to directives from the Telangana High Court. A hearing was held in the High Court on Saturday regarding ticket price hikes and special screenings for ‘Game Changer’. During the proceedings, the court made significant observations, questioning the rationale behind cancelling benefit shows while permitting special screenings. It also suggested a reconsideration of the approval for these special shows.
Following the court's remarks, the Telangana Home Department’s Special Secretary issued instructions to cancel the permissions. The High Court highlighted that while producers may invest heavily in high-budget films, it is not appropriate to impose additional financial burdens on the audience through special shows and increased ticket prices. Citing public safety concerns, the court advised against granting permissions for both benefit and special shows.
The next hearing on the matter has been scheduled for the 24th of this month. In the meantime, the government has officially withdrawn the permissions for special screenings of the film.
