Defamation Case: Pune Court Grants Bail to Rahul Gandhi

In a significant relief for senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha opposition member Rahul Gandhi, a Pune court granted him bail in a defamation case. The case was filed by Savarkar’s grandson, Satyaki Savarkar, following comments made by Rahul Gandhi in March 2023 during a speech in London, where he allegedly referred to Veer Savarkar in a controversial manner.

Rahul Gandhi appeared before the court today via video conference for the hearing. The MP-MLA court granted him bail on a surety bond of Rs. 25,000. Senior Congress leader Mohan was present in court as a surety on behalf of Rahul Gandhi.
