Passenger Assaults TTE in Drunken Rage, Gets Beaten Up in Return – Viral Video Emerges
A shocking incident occurred onboard the Amritsar-Katihar Express when a drunk passenger, identified as Sheikh Tajuddin from Punjab, allegedly misbehaved with fellow female passengers and later slapped a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) during an altercation. The situation escalated when the TTE, Rajesh Kumar, and a coach attendant retaliated by assaulting the passenger, leading to a violent brawl captured on video, which has since gone viral on social media.
The incident took place on Wednesday when Sheikh Tajuddin boarded the train from Sivan, Bihar, en route to New Delhi. According to reports, Tajuddin allegedly paid a bribe to coach attendants Vikram Chauhan and Sonu Mahto, allowing him to consume alcohol at his seat. It is claimed that the attendants also consumed alcohol with him. Following this, Tajuddin reportedly started behaving inappropriately with female passengers, prompting complaints to the railway staff.
In response to the complaints, coach attendant Vikram Chauhan summoned TTE Rajesh Kumar to handle the situation. When Kumar arrived and confronted Tajuddin, an argument ensued. In a fit of rage, Tajuddin reportedly slapped the TTE. Angered by the assault, Rajesh Kumar dragged Tajuddin towards the door of the coach, where he, along with Chauhan, began assaulting the passenger. Video footage shows the TTE pinning Tajuddin to the ground while Chauhan repeatedly hit him with a belt. At one point, Rajesh Kumar was seen jumping on Tajuddin’s back as the passenger lay on the floor.
The video of the incident spread rapidly across social media, drawing significant attention and raising concerns about the conduct of railway staff. Following the altercation, railway police were alerted and detained the TTE at the next station. However, the two coach attendants, Vikram Chauhan and Sonu Mahto, managed to flee and could not be located despite a thorough search of the train.
Railway police have registered a case based on Tajuddin’s complaint and launched an investigation into the incident. A senior railway police officer confirmed the registration of the case, stating, “We are investigating the matter thoroughly. The accused attendants are currently absconding, and efforts are being made to apprehend them.”
