Tirupati Tragedy: Old Video of Garikapati Narasimha Rao Goes Viral

In the wake of the recent tragedy in Tirupati, where six devotees lost their lives in a stampede while queuing for Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan tickets, an old video of renowned spiritual preacher Garikapati Narasimha Rao has gone viral on social media. In the video, Garikapati emphasizes that there are no auspicious days or specific moments to seek divine blessings and questions the obsession with particular dates and timings for temple visits.

Garikapati recalls that during the Mukkoti Ekadashi, devotees throng Tirupati to gain access to the Uttara Dwara Darshan. He warns that such overcrowding on a single day and specific time could lead to unfortunate incidents. He advises that visiting temples a day later or waiting for two or three days is equally fulfilling and free of any negative consequences.

The preacher further states that God does not curse devotees for delayed visits, criticizing the mindset that insists on visiting on a specific day regardless of circumstances. He describes this behavior as irrational and unnecessary. According to Garikapati, temples, holy places, and auspicious dates are secondary to having inner purity and righteous conduct. “There is no shrine greater than the body, and no holy water greater than the mind. With good behavior, you become your own temple and your own sacred pilgrimage,” he remarked in the video.
