CM Chandrababu Honors Savitribai Phule’s Legacy on Her Birth Anniversary

On the occasion of the 194th birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu paid homage via a message on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). He praised her as a pioneering activist for women’s education and an exemplary teacher, emphasizing her contribution to Indian society.

“Savitribai Phule was the first to raise her voice for women’s education, setting a remarkable example for all. Her opposition to the caste system, patriarchy, and untouchability continues to inspire generations,” said Chandrababu Naidu.

Highlighting her historic contributions, Chandrababu Naidu noted that Savitribai Phule’s initiative to establish the first school for girls in Pune in 1848 was extraordinary for its time. He further stated that her efforts laid the foundation for the Telugu Desam Party’s ideology of women’s empowerment and led to advancements such as women's reservations.

"On this special occasion, I once again pay my heartfelt tributes to Savitribai Phule, who devoted her life to building an inclusive society that transcended caste and religious barriers," the Chief Minister tweeted.
