Students Allege Filming in Bathrooms: Police Investigate at CMR College
Medchal district of Telangana witnessed protests by female students of the CMR IT Women’s Hostel in Kandlakoya following allegations of bathroom footage being secretly recorded. The students staged a demonstration late last night, prompting local police officials, including the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and Circle Inspector (CI), to visit the hostel today to investigate the matter. Security measures have since been put in place at the college.
The protests, which began late Wednesday night, continued until 2 AM on Thursday, involving students and their union representatives. The students alleged that video recordings were being made in the bathrooms, sparking outrage and demands for swift action. Police assured the students that strict measures would be taken, leading to the protest's conclusion.
In response to the complaints, Medchal police registered a case and detained five suspects for questioning. Authorities have confiscated the suspects' mobile phones as part of the investigation. Preliminary findings revealed that a kitchen is located adjacent to the bathrooms, and a workers’ room nearby has raised suspicions.
Police are continuing their inquiry to verify the allegations and determine the involvement of any individuals in this incident.
