Kerala Teacher Sentenced to 111 Years in Prison for Raping Minor

A Kerala teacher has been sentenced to 111 years in prison by the Thiruvananthapuram Special Fast Track Court for raping a minor student five years ago. The court also imposed a fine of ₹1.05 lakh, with an additional year of imprisonment if the fine is not paid.

Manoj (44), a government employee and tutor, was found guilty of sexually assaulting an 11th-grade student on July 2, 2019. The incident led to his wife's suicide.

Judge R. Rekha stated that there was no need for leniency. Manoj lured the girl to his home under the pretense of special classes and recorded the assault on his mobile phone. The court has now issued its final verdict.
