Chandrababu Holds Teleconference with TDP Cadre, Sets Roadmap for TDP’s Future
As 2024 comes to a close, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President Nara Chandrababu Naidu conducted a teleconference with party leaders, urging them to focus on the 2029 elections. He stressed that results are achievable only through consistent hard work and advised against expecting overnight changes.
Describing 2024 as an "inspirational year" for the party, Chandrababu highlighted that membership registrations initiated on October 26 have surpassed 9.3 million. He outlined plans to provide ₹5 lakh insurance coverage under the ₹100 membership fee scheme. He called for a clear roadmap to guide the party's future actions.
Chandrababu expressed satisfaction with the large-scale membership registrations in Telangana and announced an extension of the registration drive by 15 days. He also stated that all committee appointments would be completed before the upcoming "Mahanadu."
Excise Department Review
The Chief Minister also reviewed the Excise Department’s performance, making several key decisions. A resolution was passed to allocate 10% of liquor shops to the Geetha caste, with 340 outlets set to receive licenses within a week through a notification.
Additionally, the government approved increasing the retail liquor shop margin from 10.5% to 14%. Chandrababu emphasized that all types of liquor brands, including affordable ₹99 options, must be made available in stores. He instructed officials to adopt a strict stance against illegal belt shops and to track liquor sales through technology for greater transparency and accountability.
