Manmohan Singh’s Daughter Performs Final Rites

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's last rites were conducted with full military honors at the Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi. The funeral adhered to Sikh traditions, with prayers held prior to lighting the funeral pyre. His eldest daughter Upinder Singh lit the funeral pyre and performed the ceremonial act of lighting the pyre.

The ceremony was attended by several prominent leaders, including President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, senior Congress leaders, and the chiefs of the three armed forces. Rahul Gandhi, a key Congress leader, was seen carrying the mortal remains of the former Prime Minister as part of the procession.

Manmohan Singh, one of India’s most respected leaders and a distinguished economist, was honored for his contributions to the nation throughout his career.
