Congress Has Ignored Its Promises: MLC Kavitha

BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha criticized the Congress government, alleging that it has failed to fulfill the promises made during the elections. Speaking to the media after visiting a church in Medak, Kavitha stated that initiatives such as Christmas gifts, Ramzan Tohfa, and Bathukamma saree distributions have been discontinued under Congress rule. She accused the government of deceiving women by making promises it has not kept.

Kavitha highlighted that Congress had assured ₹2,500 per month for every woman, along with schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and one tola gold, during the elections. However, she claimed that these promises remain unfulfilled, with the government owing ₹30,000 to each woman in the state. She also criticized the unfulfilled promise of providing scooters to girls aged 18 and above.

The MLC alleged a 40% increase in crimes under Congress’ one-year rule and warned that women would not remain silent if promises were not honored. "Women will hold the Congress government accountable for its failures," she said.

Kavitha further demanded that the government refrain from reducing eligibility criteria for the Rythu Bharosa scheme and questioned the status of the promised increase in support prices for crops like maize, red gram, soybean, and cotton. She also criticized the delay in issuing ration cards, asserting that every household member should receive ration rice as per the government’s promises.
