Minister Narayana Highlights Online Process for Building Permissions

Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana announced that no special permissions are required for constructing buildings up to five floors in urban areas. He stated that permits would be issued upon payment of the requisite fees to the municipality for layouts and buildings. He further explained that applicants could apply online for permissions and clarified that approvals from other departments are not necessary.

The minister directed officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) within 15 days on urban issues such as roads, streetlights, drinking water, stormwater drainage, and solid waste management. He also urged officials to take steps to collect arrears of overdue taxes.

Minister Narayana alleged that municipal funds were misused during the YSR Congress Party’s tenure. He added that contractors are currently hesitant to undertake projects. He also mentioned that a waste-to-energy plant is being set up in Visakhapatnam and that TIDCO houses are being constructed using modern technological methods.
