BBMP Issues Notice to Virat Kohli’s Pub in Bengaluru
Indian cricket star Virat Kohli's pub, "One8 Commune," located in Bengaluru, has been served notices by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for alleged violations of fire safety regulations. The pub operates from Ratna Complex on MG Road, near the Chinnaswamy International Cricket Stadium. According to BBMP officials, the establishment has been running without obtaining a mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department.
The issue came to light following complaints filed by social activists H.M. Venkatesh and Kunigal Narasimhamurthy. Acting on these complaints, BBMP issued the first notice on November 29. However, officials reported that they have yet to receive a response from the pub. A second notice has now been issued, with the Shanthi Nagar Division Health Officer of BBMP stating that legal action will be initiated if a satisfactory reply is not provided within seven days.
This is not the first instance of controversy surrounding the pub. In July, an FIR was filed against "One8 Commune" for staying open until 1 a.m., violating permitted operational hours. Police stated that the establishment continued its operations beyond the sanctioned time.
