"Idol Worship Won’t Build Roads," Pawan Kalyan Tells Fans
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan inaugurated a road construction project today in the tribal regions of Parvathipuram district. He laid the foundation stone for a BT road in the Bagujola tribal village. During the event, fans began chanting slogans like “OG, OG” and “CM, CM,” leading to a brief display of frustration from Pawan Kalyan, who responded in a slightly admonishing tone.
Addressing the crowd, he remarked, “Let me do my work. You are overwhelming me so much that even the road is not visible. I bow down to all of you, but please let me focus on the road.”
He continued, “You’re chanting ‘OG, OG’ now, but earlier it was ‘CM, CM.’ Even after becoming the Deputy CM, it seems some people are still not satisfied. Let me make it clear—when you surround me like this, no work gets done. Allow me to work.”
Pawan Kalyan further appealed to his supporters, emphasizing the importance of constructive action over idol worship. He said, “Uttarandhra is the land that taught the Telugu language to its people, the land of revolutions, the land that resists oppression. But today, some of you are lost in movie fandom, shouting ‘OG, OG’ and putting up posters. This will not take you forward in life.”
In a candid tone, he added, 'If I simply twirl my mustache or beat my chest, will roads get built? No. Roads will be constructed only when I politely urge the Prime Minister and bring the issue to the Chief Minister’s attention. I am not someone who indulges in theatrics; I am someone who gets things done.'
Through his words, Pawan Kalyan urged his supporters to prioritize meaningful action and progress over fanfare, reiterating his commitment to development work in the region.
