Formula E-Race Controversy: ED Seeks Case Documents from ACB
A significant development has emerged in the Formula E-Race controversy that has stirred Telangana's political circles. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has stepped in concerning alleged diversion of funds to a foreign firm. The ED has requested copies of the FIR and related documents from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which had previously registered a case. Following a thorough examination of the details, the ED is likely to file its own case.
Allegations have surfaced against former Telangana Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) for reportedly issuing verbal orders to transfer funds in US dollars to a foreign firm in violation of established norms during the organization of the Formula E-Race event.
The ACB registered the case on Thursday, naming KTR as Accused No. 1 (A1), Arvind Kumar, the then-Special Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration Department, as Accused No. 2 (A2), and BLN Reddy, the then-Chief Engineer of HMDA, as Accused No. 3 (A3).
In response, KTR filed a quash petition in the Telangana High Court on Friday, seeking dismissal of the ACB's case against him.
