Rain Disrupts Play, Gabba Test Ends in a 'Draw'

The Gabba Test between India and Australia, part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, concluded in a draw due to persistent rain interruptions. Chasing a target of 275 runs, India reached 8/0 by the tea break before umpires called off the match due to inclement weather.

Australia posted a formidable 445 runs in their first innings and declared at 89/7 in their second innings, setting India a target of 275 runs after gaining a 185-run first-innings lead. In response, India was all out for 260 in their first innings.

Travis Head, who scored a brilliant 152 in Australia’s first innings, was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.

Earlier in the series, India won the first Test in Perth, while Australia claimed victory in the pink-ball Test at Adelaide Oval. With the third Test in Brisbane ending in a draw, the five-match series stands evenly poised at 1-1. The fourth Test is scheduled to begin on December 26.
