Chandrababu Naidu Sets Clear Goals for Officials to Accelerate Governance

In an effort to establish Andhra Pradesh as the leading state in India, the coalition government under Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is proceeding with a meticulously planned approach. Leveraging his extensive administrative experience, Chandrababu Naidu has been actively guiding ministers, district collectors, and other key officials to drive the state's development agenda. A two-day review meeting with district collectors, superintendents of police, senior officials, and ministers showcased his commitment to these goals.

The marathon sessions lasted nine hours on the first day and 13 hours on the second, culminating in 22 hours of intensive discussions. During these meetings, Chandrababu Naidu provided explicit instructions to district collectors on their responsibilities, emphasizing his signature governance style. He stressed the importance of public service and cautioned officials against authoritarian behavior, urging them to treat citizens as stakeholders in the administration.

The live broadcast of these review meetings was a notable feature, aimed at making the government's goals and action plans transparent to both officials and the general public. This initiative has reportedly clarified the operational strategies for various departments, benefiting citizens and government staff alike.

Addressing the officials, Chandrababu Naidu declared himself the team leader and encouraged open communication without hesitation. He warned that underperforming district collectors or ministers could face reassignment. Chandrababu Naidu also announced plans for biannual performance reviews, promising recognition for those who excel and stern measures for those who fall short. “Rebuilding a devastated state is our goal, and it is our responsibility to honor the people's mandate,” he said, emphasizing the need for strict measures to achieve these objectives.

Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to engage legislators in government programs but cautioned against indiscriminately accommodating their demands, especially if such actions could tarnish the administration’s reputation. He urged them to focus on tasks aligned with governance priorities while fostering a positive public perception of the government.

Pending public grievances were instructed to be resolved within three months, and a faster pace of governance was mandated to ensure visible change. Highlighting the critical role of district collectors, Chandrababu Naidu called for vigilance against corruption and negligence in the administrative machinery. He emphasized the importance of innovative solutions, pointing out that many challenges could be addressed without significant financial resources.

During the sessions, Chandrababu Naidu addressed every department, providing immediate solutions to issues raised by district collectors. He expressed displeasure at officials arriving without adequate preparation or information, urging everyone to come well-informed to foster better outcomes.
