Indian chess prodigy Dommaraju Gukesh made history by winning the World Chess Championship, defeating China's Ding Liren. At just 18 years old, Gukesh became the youngest player ever to claim this prestigious title, marking a significant milestone in the world of chess.

Many fans have wondered about the prize money Gukesh earned for his historic victory. As the World Chess Champion, he will receive a trophy and $1.35 million (approximately ₹11.45 crore). The runner-up, Ding Liren, will be awarded $1.15 million (approximately ₹9.75 crore).

The total prize pool for the championship stood at ₹21.75 crore. According to the tournament structure, a player receives ₹1.69 crore for each game won. With three game victories, Gukesh earned ₹5.09 crore, while Ding secured ₹3.39 crore for winning two games. The remaining prize money was distributed equally, bringing Gukesh's total earnings to ₹11.45 crore and Ding’s to ₹9.75 crore.

The trophy presentation ceremony is scheduled for today.
