Avanthi Srinivas Resigns from YSRCP, Advises Jagan to Reflect on Mistakes
Former minister Avanthi Srinivas has resigned from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), delivering a significant blow to the party. He sent his resignation letter to party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Uttarandhra YSRCP coordinator V. Vijayasai Reddy. Addressing the media, Avanthi Srinivas criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy's leadership, calling for introspection within the party.
Avanthi stated that immediately criticizing a newly elected government is inappropriate and suggested giving the government at least a year before passing judgment. He questioned the rationale behind organizing protests just five months after the new administration took charge.
Reflecting on the recent election results, he urged Jagan Mohan Reddy to respect the people’s mandate, emphasizing that the voters had given the opposition coalition a five-year term. Despite implementing numerous welfare schemes, YSRCP's electoral defeat indicated a need for self-reflection, he added.
Avanthi Srinivas expressed concern about the party’s internal functioning, stating that grassroots workers were being neglected under YSRCP’s administration. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy governed remotely from Tadepalli while party workers struggled on the ground. He lamented the lack of respect and recognition for party workers.
He also shared his personal journey, mentioning that he entered politics inspired by his admiration for actor Chiranjeevi. He stressed that his resignation stemmed solely from personal reasons, including a desire to spend more time with his family and manage their educational institutions.
