Former AP CID Chief Sanjay Suspended
N. Sanjay, former chief of the Andhra Pradesh CID and a senior IPS officer, has been suspended by the state government following serious allegations of financial misconduct. The suspension comes after the Vigilance and Enforcement Department's investigation revealed his involvement in irregularities during his tenure as Director General of the Fire Services Department.
The Vigilance report alleged that Sanjay misused his position to facilitate payments amounting to ₹1 crore to Sautrika Technologies and Infra Pvt. Ltd. without any progress in the assigned work. It further stated that he engaged in bid rigging and favoritism while awarding tenders, compromising the integrity of the process and betraying public trust.
The Vigilance report urged the state government to take criminal action against the company and impose appropriate legal measures on Sanjay under the Central Civil Services Conduct Rules.
Acting on these findings, the state government issued suspension orders against Sanjay, directing him not to leave the headquarters during the suspension period.
