AP CM Chandrababu Naidu Criticizes Land Titling Act as Dangerous

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated that if the Land Titling Act had come into effect, it would have led to the theft of people's properties. He announced the decision to repeal the act in accordance with the promise made during the elections. The legislative assembly debated the repeal bill of the Land Titling Act on Wednesday. The discussion was initiated by Minister Anagani Sathya Prasad.

Sathya Prasad commented that the bill appeared to be aimed at depriving people of their rights. He mentioned that this act could lead to more land disputes. He questioned how poor farmers could directly approach the High Court if they faced issues. He also raised concerns about how people could afford to hire expensive lawyers for small disputes.

Following this, Chandrababu Naidu described the Land Titling Act as a dangerous law. He accused the previous administration of introducing this law without proper consideration, which resulted in numerous problems. He recalled how lawyers protested against this law, raising awareness among the public.

He emphasized that land is an inheritance passed down through generations. The practice has been to provide the Pattadar Passbook with a government seal. However, he questioned whether it was appropriate to issue Pattadar Passbooks with the Chief Minister's photo. He also mentioned a recent land survey, which he claimed increased land disputes. He concluded that the Land Titling Act was flawed.
