Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy clarified that the basis for the farmer loan waiver is not the ration card but the passbook. Speaking at an event organized in the context of loan waivers up to Rs. 1 lakh, he criticized those spreading false information that the ration card is the basis for the loan waiver. He emphasized that only the passbook is considered for this purpose.

He urged people not to believe in the false statements being circulated. He mentioned that to qualify for the loan waiver, one must have land, a passbook, and a loan taken. If there are any technical issues regarding the loan waiver, he suggested approaching the bank officials, who are ready to cooperate.

He reiterated that when Congress makes a promise, it is as solid as an inscription on stone. He stated that the loan waiver is being implemented as mentioned in the Farmer Declaration. Despite facing several difficulties and challenges, the loan waiver is being executed. He praised Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the aspirations of four crore Telangana people by granting statehood and asserted that the current government is now fulfilling its loan waiver promise.

Revanth Reddy criticized the BRS party for promising loan waivers in 2014 and 2018 but failing to implement them. He contrasted this with his administration, which kept its promise within eight months, providing exemplary governance. He remarked that this day is unforgettable in his life and declared that the goal of his government is to make farmers prosperous. He assured that the government is working to ensure farmers can hold their heads high.

He announced that as per the declaration made at the Warangal meeting, the farmer loans are being waived. He specified that this is only the first phase of the waiver and promised to waive all loans up to Rs. 2 lakhs by August. He also mentioned his plans to visit Delhi and organize a massive public meeting in Warangal at the end of the month, inviting Rahul Gandhi to celebrate the occasion of fulfilling the loan waiver promise made on Warangal soil.
