Telangana Government Decides to Conduct TET Twice a Year

The Telangana state government has decided to conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) twice a year. The Department of Education issued official orders on Saturday regarding this decision. The TET will be conducted once in June and once in December each year. The orders state that a candidate can attempt the TET exam as many times as they wish.

Only those who pass the TET will be allowed to take the DSC (District Selection Committee) exam. TET scores will be given weightage in the DSC exam. Previously, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) directed states to conduct TET twice a year. Additionally, the central government extended the validity of the TET certificate to a lifetime, eliminating the need to reappear for the exam once qualified. Candidates who have already qualified for the TET can retake the exam to improve their scores, as the TET scores are considered in the DSC exam.
